When it comes to deciding where you want to live, many factors can come into play. We had the pleasure to sit down and chat with two current residents as part of our “Moments at Moldaw” interview series. Meet Lily H. and Jane Y., both active members of our community, and learn why they chose to make Moldaw Residences in Palo Alto, CA, home.
Meet Lily H.
Lily toured nine different senior living communities before choosing Moldaw. She was so impressed with the community that she actually signed up three years before we would open — before we had even broken ground.
“It was [going to be] on an 8½ acre campus with a JCC, which meant that it was going to be multicultural, multi-everything,” Lily recalls. The special and unique relationship that Moldaw has with the JCC is what originally drew Lily to Moldaw.
“There’s no question that I wouldn’t want to live in a place that was just seniors,” Lily says. “Seniors are great, but we need a multi-generational campus.”
Lily loves the vibrant energy of Moldaw: “There’s little nursery school kids, there’s camps, there’s so many activities between Moldaw and the JCC. You could be busy more than 24 hours a day!”

Meet Jane Y.
For Jane, it was Moldaw’s location that initially caught her eye: “I was looking for a place as close to family as I could, and I felt that Moldaw met my needs. It’s a very welcoming place. Everybody here is very friendly and it feels very family-like.”
Jane appreciates the breadth of options available to residents at Moldaw. “They really have something here for everybody,” she says. “No matter what your interest is or what your desires are, what brings you happiness, they find something for you.”
She also enjoys the active participation of residents in day-to-day life: “[We all] do our part in supporting and being of use to not only ourselves, but to everybody that lives here…It’s a very resident-run community, which I like.”
